City-building game SteamWorld Build announced for PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC

Publisher Thunderful Games and developer The Station have announced the city builder game SteamWorld Build for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC (Steam). It will be released in 2023. A demo is available now for PC.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Thunderful Games:

Be the architect of one SteamWorld mining town! Clear land and build houses for your citizens with steam, feed them and provide entertainment.

There’s an abandoned mine beneath your town and it’s rumored to be filled with ancient technology that holds the key to escaping your impending doom. Use the natural resources above ground and the abundant ores buried in the mine to expand your city. Stimulate new residential levels to join the quest to dig deeper, uncover untold riches, and ultimately help remove them from the planet!

As the city expands in all directions, new types of steam find their way into the settlement – and their needs are increasingly complex to meet. To keep everyone happy, you’ll need to make sure everyone is working their hardest.

Buy items to increase the efficiency of buildings. Keep the goods flowing up and down the mine by speeding up the miners with encouraging shocks of electricity. Or, exchange at your local train station and get what you need that way. It’s all up to you!

Mine and Explore

As you go hunting deeper and deeper into the mine for riches, eventually something will start hunting you back. Defend your workers from creepy creatures and keep the walls from collapsing as you explore the deeper levels of your mine.
