Warhammer 40K: Darktide released on PC late last year, a dark and gritty rendition Left 4 dead set in the bleak and distant future of Games Workshop. It was OK! He had problems, but he was OK. These issues have persisted into 2023, however, so the developers are holding off on an Xbox version of the game while they work to fix them.
In a statement released earlier today, Fatshark says it set out to “create a highly addictive and stable game with a level of depth that keeps you playing for weeks, not hours,” but it “failed to meet those expectations “.
As a result, not only are they delaying the “seasonal content” for the PC version, but they will also be delaying the game’s release on the Xbox Series X|S.
OPEN LETTER TO OUR PLAYERS
We at Fatshark are very proud of our ability to provide a game that millions of people can enjoy. That’s what we set out to do with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide to create a highly addictive and stable game with a level of depth that keeps you playing for weeks, not hours.
We did not meet these expectations.
Over the next few months, our only focus is to address the feedback that many of you have. In particular, we will focus on providing a complete crafting system, a more rewarding progression loop, and continue to work on game stability and performance optimization.
This also means that we will be delaying the release of seasonal content and the launch of the Xbox Series XIS. We will also suspend future launches of premium cosmetics. I just couldn’t continue down this path knowing that I didn’t address many areas of feedback in the game today.
Thanks for playing and for your feedback. We really appreciate it. He has helped and will continue to help shape the game we love.

I didn’t think the PC version was that bad! Sure it had its problems, but online games from smaller teams like this often do. Then, smaller teams often don’t have the necessary resources all at once so if that’s what they want to do with what they’ve got, then that’s what they’ll do with what they’ve got!
