Femtech startup Salad has raised $270,000 in its pre-seed funding round led by Antler India, through the venture capital firm’s Antler India Residency initiative. Determined to change the landscape of how women take charge of their bodies, Salad is currently assembling her first team of engineers, machine learning experts, and nutrition and sports science experts.
“We are currently on the cusp of a revolutionary shakeup of the healthcare industry, where women are finally taking charge of the many factors that contribute to their overall health and well-being. At Salad, we want to harness technology to empower women women for misinformation about their hormones and take steps to proactively manage their own health and lifestyle,” said Aruna Chawla, CEO of Salad.
The Salad product was conceptualized in late 2022 by entrepreneur Aruna Chawla and early Uber India team member Karishma Rathaur. Salad is also one of 30 FemTech companies from around the world to win Guidea’s Femovate grant. Guidea is now working with Salad to bring the UI UX of their upcoming mobile app in line with international best practices in behavioral sciences and digital therapies. To set the tone for the year and in preparation for launching its app later this quarter, the company recently secured more than 30 partnerships with national brands across the spectrum of women’s health for its #HappyHormonesToYou Gift Guide. recently launched, according to an official statement from the company.
