Fox News flips Xbox ‘Woke’ because everything is stupid

A day after M&M’s canceled its “spokescandies” amid backlash from Fox News hosts who no longer found them sexy, the conservative cable giant has found its latest target for outrage: “woke” video game consoles with energy saving.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that Xbox will offer “carbon-conscious game downloads and updates” as part of the company’s ongoing effort to reduce carbon emissions and help fight climate change.

“For example, instead of the Xbox waking up during the nightly maintenance window at a random time between 2am and 6am, the console will wake up at a time when it can use the most renewable energy from local power. network,” the company said, adding: “This lowers fossil fuel dependency and CO2 emissions and could save money.”

But because the right-wing outrage machine constantly needs feeding, conservative media outlets and Republican politicians took the opportunity to proclaim this as the latest battle in a never-ending culture war.

“First the gas stoves, then your coffee, now looking for your Xbox,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who seems more interested in being a right-wing entertainer than a lawmaker, he tweeted on Monday. (For the unblessed, conservatives have been losing their minds lately about possible future regulation of gas appliances, daring liberals to “come and get it”).

It didn’t take long, of course, for Fox News to jump on board the fake outrage train. Starting to make a comeback, the network’s digital newsroom published an article late Monday promoting conservative critics who had “challenged” the “woke brigade” for coming after video games.

During the show on Tuesday morning a Fox and friends firstFox Business host Cheryl Casone muttered that “some woke executives at Microsoft thought this was a good idea” before reading a series of tweets from right-wing influencers mocking the initiative.

“Aware! Is that the best word?!” Fox and friends first exclaimed co-host Todd Piro. “I’m really stuck in that language. Carbon conscious?! I’ve been carbon conscious most of my adult life. It is a very important element.”

In the next hour, however, Fox News warned viewers that Great Climate Change is coming for their kids because their video game system had a new power-saving feature.

“Xbox has also announced that they will also wake up to climate change.” The fox and friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt said. “That they add a new feature to their default settings. If you own an Xbox, you can load this new program and it will shut down after so long to save the environment.”

Fox News Radio host Jimmy Failla then raised the alarm that children are being targeted by left-wing corporations to care about the climate.

“We understand what that is,” the conservative comedian declared. “It’s not like it’s actually going to offset emissions, well – the level of reduction is infinitesimal. But try to recruit your kids into climate politics at a younger age; make them climate conscious now.”

“You’re right,” Earhardt agreed. “They’re going after the kids.”

Not to be outdone, Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen echoed Cruz, conflating Microsoft’s decision with other recent grievances on the right.

“They want to tell you how to live your life. We’re going to say, ‘No, you’re not going to drive a gas-guzzling truck, and no, you’re not going to have a gas stove, you’re going to have an electric stove,'” he said on Fox News. outnumbered. “Because every building in New York City can’t have gas anymore, right? These things actually happen. If climate radicals want to alienate Gen Z, the best way to do it is to take away their Xbox!”
