Man’s ‘Jugaad’ to make money draws Anand Mahindra’s attention

Anand Mahindra is known for his quirky and informative tweets.

People all over the world think of ways to earn money. Some take traditional forms, while others present unique ideas. One such idea caught the attention of Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra. He shared the video on Twitter showing a man collecting fees to help pedestrians cross a flooded street in a wooden cart. Mr. Mahindra liked the video so much that he called it his “Monday Motivation”. The video has been viewed more than 200,000 times and liked by more than 10,000 users.

“Entrepreneurship and business. It’s everywhere. Unstoppable,” Mahindra said in his tweet.

The video was originally posted on Reddit last week and users claim that it was filmed in Barranquilla, Colombia. They said the situation becomes an absolute mess every time it rains.

The video shows a man in a blue T-shirt collecting money from two pedestrians before offering to help them cross a flooded street just after the rain. The man puts the cash in a bottle and then moves a cart, which the two travelers board to get to the other side of the road.

The video also shows other people waiting their turn to cross the street using the man’s cart, while he remains barefoot. After leaving the two women, he offers his service to two more people. In the images several cars are seen crossing the road.

A few months ago, Mahindra shared a video showing off an ingenious home-made invention (a play) to pluck fruit from trees.

The video showed an elderly man using a long stick with a plastic bottle attached to the end to pluck the fruit. The bottle had one at one end, which the man used to open and close using the stick and plucked the fruit.
