Amritsar: Amritsar Central Jail authorities confiscated a mobile phone from a prison inmate named Inderjit Singh from the village of Rasulpur Kalan and also seized an unclaimed battery. Similarly, prison officials seized 115 bundles of bidis, three packs of tobacco, a pack of cigarettes, two mobile chargers, a set of headphones, a heater spring and two data cables from the prison complex. The same thing appeared to have been thrown from outside the prison by unknown individuals, prison authorities said. Two cases have been registered in this regard. tns
Items stolen from school
Amritsar: On Friday, an unidentified man escaped from a private school located in Mohan Nagar in Werk with cash and an LCD. Ajnay Kumar Sharma, the complainant and principal of the school, told the police that he ran the Saraswati Model School in Verka. He said that an LCD display, a video recorder, broadband Wi-Fi and cash worth Rs 13,000 were missing from the school. A criminal case has been opened on the fact, an additional investigation is underway.
