With Super Bowl LVII less than a month away, Rihanna is teasing fans about what’s to come for her highly anticipated halftime performance.
On Friday, the 34-year-old “Consideration” singer released an official trailer for her main show on February 12.
In the 30-second clip, the singer appears as a silhouette in a large, empty room. She then starts to walk forward and listens to the fans’ comments about her.
“Dude, Rihanna, we’ve been waiting for you,” a voice said. Another added: “It’s been six years since the nine-time Grammy winner released an album.”
Finally, the spotlight shines squarely on Rihanna, who is wearing a green fur coat, black outfit underneath, and chunky silver jewelry, calling for silence before her 2016 song “Needed Me” begins to play.
The star announced that he would headline the halftime show in September. At the time, she simply shared a picture on Instagram.
In the photo, what appears to be Rihanna’s hand is holding a Wilson Duke football. The “Umbrella” singer captioned the post with a single period.
“Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman from humble beginnings who has exceeded expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most outstanding artists in history. Self-made in the business and entertainment,” JAY-Z, who previously signed a deal with the NFL to head the league’s music entertainment, said in a statement, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage,” Seth Dudowsky, the NFL’s head of music, added in his own statement, according to the outlet. “Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career. We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.”

In October, Rihanna, who welcomed her first baby with A$AP Rocky in May, released her first song in nearly seven years, titled “Lift Me Up.”
The song appears on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, and serves as a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman.
The fashion mogul also revealed a Savage X Fenty Game Day collection for the big day.
The collection includes everything from Rihanna-inspired jumpers to hoodies and beanies. There’s even a cheeky T-shirt that reads, “Rihanna concert interrupted by football game, weird but whatever.” Inside the jersey is a photo of Rihanna herself wearing a football helmet.
