There have been a number of stories over the years about the possibility of reviving The Simpsons Hit & Run, a Grand Theft Auto-like title set in the fictional city of Springfield. While it doesn’t seem like we’re any closer to a return, it looks like the game’s soundtrack was uploaded to services like Spotify and Apple Music recently:
While this news is making the rounds again now, it appears this upload originally took place several months ago (thanks, TheGamer).
Unsurprisingly, some are wondering if the game could make a return in the near future. In 2021, Matt Selman, a person who has worked on the animated show since 1997, mentioned that he would “love” to see Hit & Run revived, but said it would be “tricky” to bring it back (via IGN):
“I would love to see a remastered version of [Simpsons Hit & Run]I would like, [but] It’s a complicated corporate octopus trying to make that happen.”
In 2019, the game’s producer Vlad Ceraldi also expressed how “wonderful” a potential Hit & Run remake could be.
