Fans did not share Barker’s sentiment that the line was “good”, with one commenter writing, “I could have done something much more authentic to it! Custom temporary tattoos, a hand cream/balm for dry hands good enough to the drummers. There is so much!”
In addition to feeling the expansion is inauthentic to Barker’s personality and brand, many are also dragging him down because of product prices. The cheapest product, if it can be called cheap, is a $95 facial cleanser and mask. A product called “Renewal Balm” checks in as the most expensive item in the line, priced at $140.

One commenter conveyed how lost they felt over the price, writing, “$130 FOR EYE SERUM IM SCREAMMINGG.” Another wrote: “$95 for a cleaner?! Literally flushing it down the drain?!”, and another user coined Barker’s foray into skincare as the start of his “Kardashianization”.
Criticism of “Kardashianization” is not entirely off the mark, as Barker put it. she, “Kourtney has constantly taught me that it is key when it comes to skin care and now I am seeing results.” He added that he wanted his product line to be “simple, so that anyone can follow it.”
Barker originally founded the Barker Wellness Co. out of love for cannabidiol (CBD), the active ingredient in cannabis that doesn’t produce a high but has proven medical benefits. She told Joe Rogan on an episode of the Rogan podcast, “I’m one of those people whose mind is constantly racing. I get home from the studio at 1 or 2 am and I’m thinking about how long I have to sleep before I wake up my kids for school. And I just sit there with my wheels spinning unless I use CBD.”
Barker Wellness Co. launched with a CBD pain-relieving balm and gummies, and the brand now also sells a variety of CBD tinctures and a bath, in addition to the five newly launched skincare products. CBD is included in the formula of every skincare product, so whatever the dismay of fans, the launch isn’t as bogus as many claim.
Kourtney has gotten Barker to try a few other “woo woo” health practices on her besides using CBD. The duo added quail eggs to their diet after learning they can be useful for “making babies,” and went on an intensive cleanse during which they were briefly prevented from having sex, consuming caffeine, drinking alcohol, eating sugar, or exercising. less than two weeks: another effort to stimulate fertility.
With Barker and Brad Pitt announcing their skincare brands this week, something must be in the water in Hollywood, or famous men are jumping on the bandwagon that is the beauty industry’s illustrious moneymaker.
