JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Windstream Communications, a telephone service, broadband Internet and television service, was idle Wednesday, according to Down Detector.
News4JAX found that, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., thousands of customers complained that their internet was down and no employees could be reached by phone or through their website.
“Internet down in Adel (Georgia),” wrote one customer.
“Down in Interlachen FL since around 8:30 1/18/23. I cannot communicate by phone or chat. Very frustrating. Oddly enough, the website is still up, promoting how trustworthy they are. ;-),” another customer wrote.
“If you look at the map it looks like a good chunk of the eastern US is down,” wrote another.
News4JAX is digging deeper into the issue and when customers can expect services to be restored. We contacted Windstream via email and were unable to find any way to contact them via social media. We are waiting for an answer. When we tried to call the help desk number at 1(800) 347-1991 and 1-(855)-833-3102 around 10:15 am, we received busy dial tone and dead air.
