Nelly Korda’s changes for 2023 aren’t limited to her appeal. Shortly after the announcement that she had joined the Nike staff, TaylorMade posted that the world number 2 had joined her roster.
Starting this week at the Hilton Grand Vacations LPGA Tournament of Champions at Lake Nona in Florida, Korda will play with a bag full of TaylorMade equipment and TP5 golf balls. Korda will also wear TaylorMade-branded hats and sport a TaylorMade staff bag.
“I signed with TaylorMade because of their proven ability to elevate the game of the world’s best golfers,” Korda said in a statement. “In testing with the tour team, it was clear that I was not only working with high-performance teams, but also with a team that shared my passion for working as hard as possible to be in the best position to win. I am delighted to be part of the TaylorMade team.”
Korda’s bag includes the following:
-
Stealth 2 HD 9 degree driver
-
Stealth 2 15 degrees 3-wood
-
Stealth 2 21 degrees 7-wood
-
P-770 5-6 irons
-
P-7MC 7-PW
-
Milled Grind 3 Shims 50 Degree and 54 Degree
-
TP5 ball
The company noted that the 24-year-old Korda, whose eight LPGA wins include a major, preferred the bias-draw head look on the Stealth 2 HD controller, matching his preferred shooting style. The P-770 long irons gave him the height he needed to hold the greens from 180 yards out, while the P-7MC shorter irons gave him the desired distance control.
The 2020 Olympic gold medalist begins her seventh full LPGA season this week in Lake Nona, where she won a different event, the Gainbridge LPGA, in 2021.
